Scholarship Opportunities for Counselors and Social Workers

Love From Lydia encourages mental health professionals to seek out specialized training in grief, loss, and trauma, increasing the competency and availability of trained individuals to help bereaved families more effectively.  The focus of the annual scholarship is to train clinicians, particularly those newly in the field and who have an interest in working with parents and caregivers who have lost children.  Special consideration is offered to those who are in network with Medicaid and commercial insurance as well as those willing to commit to offering a sliding scale or pro bono sessions.  The scholarships are given in memory of Lydia Schwartz. 

In 2024 and 2025, we awarded full scholarships for Understanding the Grieving Client: Familial and Traumatic Loss Certificate Program by Jennifer Vazquez, LCSW.   This program also provided recipients with 15 CEs.
