Training clinicians

After Lydia died, I had a very difficult time finding a therapist who had the expertise of working with someone like me who had dealt with trauma surrounding the sudden death of their child. I was looking for someone who was formally trained in grief and trauma work as well as modalities like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  Unfortunately, it was seemingly impossible to find who I was looking for, especially in-network with my insurance and accepting new clients.  

Love From Lydia aims to get more mental health clinicians trained in specialized grief and trauma work, particularly working with parents and caregivers who have lost young children.  The focus will be on training clinicians who are in network with Medicaid and commercial insurance as well as those willing to commit to offering a sliding scale or pro bono sessions, therefore allowing all grieving families access to quality and specialized therapeutic care.
